It is estimated that over 20,000 Vietnamese children are currently awaiting treatment for Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Most of these children are from ethnic minority households who are unable to access life-saving care due to their rural locations in remote villages and low income status.
1 in 100
Each year, 1 out of every 100 babies are born worldwide with CHD. CHD is the leading cause of birth defect related infant death. Early intervention is key to increasing survival rates, and while many courageous steps have been taken to advance the care of CHD globally, not everyone has access.

To date, Healing Hearts Vietnam has worked to bridge the gap between the cost of surgery and the totality of funds available to the patient from social insurance and private sources, to provide life saving cardiac surgery to over 450 Vietnamese children at the incredibly low cost of $750 per surgery.
